Driver Training

Clubs in District 4 offer training courses for perspective snowmobilers to obtain their Snowmobile Operators Permit, this is a license issued by the OFSC on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario. A snowmobile Operators Permit is required to legally operate a snowmobile in the province of Ontario if the operator does not have a valid drivers license of any class.

Applicants must be at least 12 years of age on the date of the course. The courses consist of six hours of in class instruction and an examination at the conclusion of the training. The course fee is $40.00 per student, the student must be 12 years or older on the date of the training. Some clubs offer lunch at an addition fee, please check with the club when registering.

Courses that are scheduled at this time are –

Heart of Ontario Snowmobile Club – Sunday November 19. To register go to the club’s web page at heartofontario.ca and select Driver Training. The course is held at the Sunderland Coop, 1 River St., Sunderland.

Hillsburgh Snow Roamers Snowmobile Club – Sunday November 26 and Sunday December 10. Both classes are now full.

Orangeville And District Snowmobile Club – Sunday December 10. Contact Tina at ktjshelton@yahoo.ca to register. The class will be held at the Anglers and Hunters hall in Orangeville.
